I can’t believe today marks six months that we’ve been married. Where has time gone?
People ask us all of the time, “How’s married life?” to which we respond “Great. Not that much different than before.”
At first, I didn’t know if my answer was boring or even typical, but it’s the truth – and I’m glad it’s that way. We still have our annoying tendencies that aggravate the other person (no, those don’t change with a wedding band). BC still loves golf, and we both work too hard! There are still bills to be paid, dishes to be washed, and laundry to be folded.
While things are much the same, there’s the fundamental difference with him being my “husband.” It’s the greatest feeling to know your best friend is with you forever; he’s your “person” who will always be there for you and love you.
I’ve always loved weddings and marriage and everything it stands for, but now I’m excited to actually be experiencing it.
I can’t wait to see what the next six months hold!
Lord, help us remember when we first met and the strong Love that grew between us. To work that Love into practical things so nothing can divide us. We ask for words both kind and loving, and for hearts always ready to ask for forgiveness as well as to forgive. Dear Lord, we put our marriage into your hands.
