Amy Nichols Special Events is a full-service event and wedding planning company based in San Francisco, California. Amy began her career in the financial services industry in New York City, after graduating from Middlebury College. She quickly turned in numbers for details and realized that her true calling was the event industry. In her free time, she interned and trained with celebrity wedding and event planners in both New York and Beverly Hills, eager to learn more about the event industry and the art of the grand affair. In 2002 Amy relocated to San Francisco where she currently resides. After a successful career in corporate event planning, Amy opened the doors of Amy Nichols Special Events in 2005.
As a wedding planner, people always say to me, “Oh you must have your entire wedding planned down to every last detail”. The truth is – I don’t! I’ve always thought that my wedding should obviously reflect both my tastes and interests, but of course those of my groom’s as well — so how could I possibly envision my wedding day without having his input. That said, there are a few things I know, just being me and my preferences. My favorite color is blue — even my website/logo and brand identity for my business is all blue blue blue. I obviously flip through tons of magazines and scour websites constantly for my brides, but if I had to choose right now, I’d go with blue (of course) for my own wedding.
My favorite flowers are hydrangeas, so you’ll see I chose images with hydrangea. I also LOVE the photo with the appetizers served on a bed of blueberries – what a great idea! I have a huge sweet tooth, so I’m fairly certain no matter who I marry, there will definitely be a big dessert spread – similar to the photo from Martha Stewart Weddings!
