ValsPhotoValerie Metrejean, owner of Southern Fete in Lafayette, La. and Butterscotch Press, brings her brides a unique experience by providing custom design work. The wedding planner can run a clean theme seamlessly from invitations and programs, to favors and decor. For Valerie, her ideal wedding day is lacking of all the usual color suspects while still creating a simple chic theme.

INSPIRATION

I see a lot of colors and can never seem to identify with one that I could commit to for my wedding day. I think every color has pretty shades I love but none that really feel like me. This minimalist approach is relaxing to me. Knowing the stress of planning a wedding, I thought it was important for the day to be filled with calmness and warmth.

ALL IN THE DETAILS

I am an invitation designer and once again would have a difficult time commiting to a design but these invitations were it! So unique yet simple. Also, I am in love with a mix of ruffles, seen in this brides wrap, and smooth lines on the cake. I think long tables are ideal to work with. They are dramatic without any over the top arrangements.
