The reception post is finally here! I’ll admit that I looked through the photos quite a few times before I could pick the best-of-the-best for the post. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, for the most part.
Well, until I mention that we had a blast even before we got to the reception! This was our ride.
We loved the feel and atmosphere of Abacus – not to mention the out-of-this-world food.
Two words: Praline chicken. Your life isn’t complete until you’ve eaten this.
Your life is also not complete until you’ve had Abacus’ crawfish corn pasta. Thank goodness I no longer had to think about fitting into my wedding dress.
Abacus has a beautiful staircase that we used as our entrance, so I wanted it to be beautiful. Two of my mom’s friends, who used to be florists, worked most of the day to decorate the banister!
Our first dance was to Jason Mraz’s – Lucky.
BC’s dad decided to “film” us.

For those who know us, everyone was expecting a golf-themed groom’s cake. I surprised everyone, including BC, with this London-themed cake made by Crystal Weddings. It was so good it was gone before we had a chance to taste any!
When I first saw this picture, I thought it looked like the 50th anniversary photos you see in the Sunday paper. Maybe it’ll be the one we use for our 50th anniversary!
Remember I said we did things a bit backward and booked our band first? We absolutely LOVE Krossfyre and one of the highlights of the reception was dancing to “Give ‘Em Cornbread.” SO much fun!
There was a lot of dancing!
And then the money dance.
And then it was over.
